What are the advantages of taking a kite course provided by IKO instructors?
The IKO (International Kite Organization) is an independent organisation that develops and promotes Kite Surf worldwide. Ever since 2001 it has perfected and improved the quality of teaching, favouring certification, safety and standardisation. The IKO courses are recognised and equal worldwide and that allows the learner to improve and evolve his/her Kite level anytime, anywhere.

The students have insurance?
Yes, all South Adventures students have INSURANCE included, 3rd party and personal accidents. Apólice Nº 85.021205 Mútua dos Pescadores 

My course is valid internationally?
Yes, all students receive a "Kitesurfer Card" that certifies his/her Kitesurf level. In this manner, your course is recognized everywhere in the world and that allows you to continue your learning process where you left off.

During the Kite Trip, and if the weather conditions are not favourable for Kite Surf, what do I do?
South Adventures suggests other activities: SUP, wave surfing, mountain bike, trekking, tourist walks, climbing, rappel, quads, horseback riding, nautical sports (canoeing, jet ski, wakeboard, boat trips, diving, fishing, etc.), 4x4 itineraries.

And if I don't have my own material?
South Adventures will let rent you material according to your kite level and wind conditions. Its use is restricted to the beach where the responsible instructor is located.

Where is the school?
The school is based in Albufeira and Faro, but we work on a 100% mobile basis, we don't wait for the wind, we search for it! (3 main spots - Faro, Alvor and Secret spot)

Must I always take my lessons at the same place?
The lessons may not always be at the same location, we are flexible and mobile, but only the instructor can decide the best location for your lesson according to the wind conditions on the kite spots we normally go ( kitesurf Alvor, kitesurf Faro, kitesurf Lagos, kitesurf Tavira, kitesurf Albufeira)

What about if I am with other people that don't practice Kite? Can they also come on the Kite Trip?
Kite Trips are also amusing for people who do not Kite. The places we go are also fantastic for relaxing, they are mainly Natural Reserves.

Is it safe to Kite Surf?
Kite Surf is a sport that always implies some risk because it is practiced using the force of the wind (which we do not control!). So, it is necessary to minimize the risks, choosing appropriate places that are as safe as possible, selecting and using the most suitable material from North kiteboarding, the leading brand in the world.

Does Algarve have good conditions for Kite Surf?
Algarve has excellent conditions for the practice Kitesurf, all year-round. Our high season is between May and October.

During the Kite Trips can we go to several spots?
Of course! We will be delighted to change spots, if the weather is permitting. The spots will be chosen together.
